From plastic waste to island solutions
Fuse Caribbean is a Curaçao-based recycling and innovation company dedicated to transforming locally collected plastic into new, functional products. As a key player in the island’s circular economy, Fuse focuses on reusing plastic waste through hands-on, sustainable design — giving new life to materials that would otherwise end up in landfills.
Unlike many other recyclers, Fuse processes plastic right here in Curaçao. Their factory specializes in the transformation of three key plastic types — typically sorted into big bags provided by Fuse to participating businesses. After proper separation, the materials are collected and processed locally.
Want to see it in action?
Soon, you’ll be able to watch a short video on our website featuring the recycling process at Fuse’s factory, along with projects at Christoffelpark and Hofi Sint Joris where their products are already being used.

Curaçao Clean Up is a dynamic non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a litter-free and environmentally conscious Curaçao.
Since its inception in 2013, the foundation has been at the forefront of mobilizing communities, businesses, and institutions to take collective action against pollution. The Curaçao Cleanup vision is to create a litter and dump-free Curaçao and a society that is aware of and conscious about the importance of environmental conservation.
With recycling stations strategically located at Bon Bini Supermarket and Best Buy Supermarket, and a cleanup event scheduled to take place in September, the organization is working hard at achieving its mission. They aim to raise awareness about proper waste management among stakeholders, to contribute to the prevention of dumping and littering, and to connect stakeholders and facilitate them through specific initiatives and activities that stimulate the fulfillment of their mission.

Nestled at Serena’s Art Factory, you can find a large garden managed by Serena Israel, the founder and artist behind the Chichi, an iconic local souvenir. Together with her landscaper and compost specialist, Serena is building a community around women and children by starting with her team of artists at Chichi. Her team members, who all received a bin to collect their kitchen scraps in, are encouraged to bring their full bin to work. This will then go into the location on the property where compost is being made. This, in turn, helps to build the garden, which is full of fruit trees, vegetables, and herbs by way of companion planting, that the team gets to enjoy on their breaks
As an avid re-user and reducer of waste, Serena’s vision is to create a community where people can provide for their own food by planting, which in turn helps to take care of those around them. Starting with her team and building that awareness internally, she believes that if we all can influence our circles and take care of each other, eventually we will not only reduce the amount of valuable waste we throw away daily, but also build community.
